Fenix HM53R Rechargeable Head Torch (1200 Lumens)
In Stock ✓ Product Code (SKU): HM53R
- Category: Fenix Head Torches
The Fenix HM53R is a compact rechargeable head torch and removable right-angle light designed for outdoor activities, professional work and everyday hands-free use. It produces up to 1200 lumens with a beam reaching 158 metres, yet weighs only 102g including its battery, headband and holder. A magnetic tail and body clip allow the light to be used away from the headband, while two red brightness levels provide practical illumination without relying on an overly bright white beam.

Five White Outputs For Greater Control
The five white-light levels make the HM53R adaptable without forcing the user to choose between maximum power and a very low setting. Turbo provides the full 1200-lumen output for identifying distant obstacles or briefly illuminating a large area, while high and medium are better suited to sustained walking, working and general outdoor use.
Low provides useful light for nearby movement while extending the available runtime considerably. The 5-lumen eco setting is intended for close-range tasks where glare would be distracting and can operate for up to 135 hours from the included battery.
Two Useful Red Brightness Levels
The red-light group can be accessed directly with a double press while the lamp is switched off. Its 30-lumen high setting is powerful enough to illuminate a meaningful working area, rather than serving only as a dim indicator. The 3-lumen low setting provides more discreet close-range light for checking equipment, reading or moving around while reducing disruption to night-adjusted vision.
A flashing red mode is also available for signalling or making the wearer easier to locate. The higher red output makes the HM53R especially useful for fishing, camping, observation and work where white light would cause unnecessary glare or disturbance.
Head Torch, Right-Angle Torch And Magnetic Work Light
The HM53R can be removed from its headband holder and used as a compact right-angle handheld torch. The included body clip allows it to be secured to a pocket, belt, backpack strap or suitable equipment, giving the user a forward-facing light without wearing the complete headband.
Its magnetic tail attaches to suitable steel surfaces, allowing the beam to be positioned above or beside a work area while leaving both hands free. This is particularly useful for vehicle maintenance, electrical work, plant rooms, workshops and other situations where a conventional head torch is not always the most convenient arrangement.
Lightweight And Straightforward To Operate
At approximately 102g including the battery, headband and lamp holder, the HM53R remains comfortable for longer periods of use. Its breathable reflective headband helps manage heat and improves the wearer’s visibility, while the adjustable holder allows the beam to be directed towards the ground, a close work area or further ahead.
A large side switch provides simple operation and is easier to locate when wearing gloves. The electronic lockout prevents accidental activation during transport, helping avoid unnecessary battery drain and heat building up inside a pocket or bag.
Replaceable Battery And USB-C Charging
The included Fenix ARB-L18-1600 rechargeable 18350 battery can be charged inside the head torch through its USB-C port. A full charge takes approximately 2.5 hours with a suitable 5V/1A or higher charging adaptor. The port is internally waterproofed and protected by an anti-dust cover for greater reliability in outdoor and working environments.
Because the battery is removable, it can be replaced when it eventually reaches the end of its useful life or exchanged for a compatible charged spare during longer trips. A suitable rechargeable 16340 battery or non-rechargeable CR123A battery can also be used as an emergency alternative. Battery performance, charging and indicator functions may vary when alternatives to the supplied battery are fitted.
Intelligent Power And Heat Management
The HM53R remembers the previously used white-light level and returns to it the next time the lamp is switched on. If it was switched off in turbo, it restarts on high to reduce the chance of unexpectedly activating maximum output.
A battery indicator shows the approximate remaining charge when the supplied battery is fitted, while the low-voltage warning gives notice when it is time to recharge or replace the battery. Intelligent overheat protection reduces the output if the lamp becomes too hot during prolonged high-power use, then gradually restores brightness as it cools.
Durable All-Metal Construction
The A6061-T6 aluminium housing has a hard-anodised, abrasion-resistant finish and provides efficient heat dissipation. IP68 protection makes the lamp dustproof and waterproof to a depth of two metres, while two-metre impact resistance provides additional protection against knocks and accidental drops.
