The Fenix HM65R is a powerful rechargeable head torch combining a long-range spotlight with a broad floodlight for adaptable hands-free illumination. The two beams can be controlled independently or used together to produce a maximum combined output of 1400 lumens, making the HM65R well suited to professional work, search and rescue, caving, hiking, fishing, camping and other demanding outdoor activities.

Separate Distance And Area Lighting
The 1000-lumen spotlight produces a concentrated beam reaching up to 163 metres. This makes it useful for locating route markers, checking terrain, inspecting structures and identifying hazards further ahead.
The floodlight spreads smooth, neutral-white illumination across the nearby area. It is more comfortable for close work, reading equipment, setting up camp and moving over uneven ground where peripheral visibility is more useful than a narrow central beam.
Each beam has its own top-mounted switch, allowing the spotlight and floodlight to be operated independently. They can also be used simultaneously when both long-range visibility and broad surrounding illumination are required, producing the HM65R’s maximum combined output of 1400 lumens.
Simple Independent Controls
The separate switches make it easy to select the appropriate beam without repeatedly cycling through unrelated settings. Each channel remembers its previously used brightness after the first use, providing quicker access to a preferred output when the head torch is switched on again.
A lockout function helps prevent accidental activation while the lamp is stored in a bag or carried with other equipment.
Rechargeable And Replaceable Battery
The HM65R is supplied with a removable Fenix ARB-L18-3400 18650 rechargeable battery. It charges inside the head torch through the protected USB-C port, with a typical charging time of approximately two hours when the lamp is switched off.
A four-stage battery indicator shows the remaining charge before use, helping the wearer decide whether a recharge or spare battery will be needed. Medium spotlight or floodlight output can also be used while the head torch is connected to a suitable power source.
Because the battery is replaceable, a charged spare can be carried for extended shifts, overnight work and longer outdoor trips. Two CR123A lithium batteries can also be used as an emergency alternative. CR123A batteries are not rechargeable and must never be charged inside the head torch.
Comfortable For Extended Wear
The perforated headband helps reduce bulk and improve airflow during prolonged use. Reflective detailing makes the wearer easier to identify in low-light conditions, while the optional overhead strap provides additional stability during active movement and demanding work.
The lamp can be tilted within its mounting bracket, allowing the beam to be directed towards the ground for close work or raised for longer-distance visibility.
Lightweight And Durable
The HM65R uses magnesium, aluminium and polycarbonate components to balance strength with manageable weight. The lamp weighs 97g excluding the battery and provides two-metre impact resistance for demanding outdoor and professional environments.
Its IP68 rating provides complete protection against dust and allows immersion in water to a depth of two metres. A low-voltage warning alerts the user when the battery is approaching depletion.
