The Niteray expands the standard HM65R V2.0 platform with additional spotlight, floodlight, combined-beam and red-light settings selected for practical UK use. These extra modes provide finer control over brightness and battery life, helping the head torch adapt more effectively to everything from close-range work to rapid route checks and long periods outdoors.
The spotlight provides concentrated distance illumination for identifying obstacles, route markers and terrain further ahead. The floodlight spreads illumination across the immediate working area, making it more comfortable for equipment checks, campsite tasks, repairs and movement over uneven ground.
Practical 14-Hour Work Mode
The exclusive 175-lumen Work mode combines a 150-lumen floodlight with a lower-powered spotlight. This produces broad, comfortable lighting nearby while retaining enough forward reach to see beyond the immediate task.
With a run time of more than 14 hours, Work mode is particularly useful for tradespeople, engineers, search and rescue support, campsite tasks and other jobs where balanced illumination is more helpful than maximum brightness.
Useful Red Light, Not Just A Marker
The dedicated red LED produces up to 140 lumens, making it substantially more capable than the low-output red markers fitted to many head torches. Its five constant levels allow the output to be adapted for navigation, equipment checks, fishing and other activities where white light could be unnecessarily disruptive.
The 3-lumen Stealth mode provides discreet close-range illumination for up to 295 hours. It helps preserve natural night vision and reduces disturbance to other people or wildlife, while the red flashing mode provides an additional signalling option.
Two Headband Systems Included
The fitted SPORT headband uses a rotary adjuster for quick, precise tightening and loosening. Its overhead strap provides additional stability during running and active movement, while reflective detailing improves visibility and an integrated emergency whistle adds a useful safety feature.
An additional conventional buckle-adjustable headband is also supplied. This gives the user a more traditional setup for caving, industrial work, helmet-mounted applications and other situations where the SPORT adjuster may not be preferred.
Replaceable Battery And USB-C Charging
The Niteray is supplied with a removable Fenix ARB-L18-3400 18650 rechargeable battery. The battery charges inside the head torch through the protected USB-C port, with a typical charging time of approximately 2.5 hours when connected to a suitable power supply.
A four-stage battery indicator makes it easier to check the available charge before starting work or heading outdoors. The head torch can also operate at selected outputs while connected to a power source, and its replaceable battery allows a charged spare to be carried for longer periods away from mains power.
Two CR123A lithium batteries can be used as an emergency alternative. CR123A batteries are not rechargeable and must never be charged inside the head torch.
