The main Luminus SST40 LED produces a concentrated white spotlight for viewing routes, structures and work areas at distance. Turbo provides the full 1600-lumen output when maximum reach is needed, while high and medium offer more sustainable working levels for regular use.
The 30-lumen low setting runs for up to 100 hours, making it particularly useful during extended shifts, multi-day trips or situations where charging opportunities are limited. The head can be tilted in its holder, allowing the beam to be directed towards the hands for close work or further ahead when moving through an unlit area.
High-CRI Neutral Light For Accurate Detail
The separate XP-G2 HE neutral-white LED creates a wide, even flood beam with a colour rendering index above 90. Colours and fine detail therefore appear more natural than under a typical cool-white work light, helping when identifying cables, checking surface condition, carrying out repairs or reading coloured markings.
Its 400-lumen high setting provides strong area lighting, while the 70-lumen medium setting reduces glare and extends run time when working directly in front of the face or around reflective surfaces.
Red Light And red flashing Signalling
Constant red light provides low-level illumination while causing less disruption to night-adjusted vision. It is useful for checking maps, instruments and equipment in darkness without producing the harsh reflection of a brighter white beam. The red flashing setting provides a long-running emergency signal when attracting attention is more important than illuminating the surrounding area.
Glove-Friendly Control And Lockout
A large, thumb-sized switch provides access to two lighting groups. General mode contains the four spotlight settings, while functional mode contains the neutral-white floodlight, constant red light and red flashing. Separating the outputs in this way makes it easier to reach the appropriate type of light without cycling through every available setting.
The spotlight remembers its previously selected level, although turbo restarts on high to manage heat and battery demand. A lockout function helps prevent the HM70R from switching on accidentally while stored in a bag or toolbox.
Replaceable Battery And Hidden USB-C Charging
The HM70R is supplied with a removable Fenix ARB-L21-5000 21700 rechargeable battery. Its 5000mAh capacity supports both the high-output spotlight and the exceptionally long lower settings, while the replaceable design allows a compatible charged spare to be carried for extended work away from mains power.
The USB-C charging port is concealed beneath a protective cover and supports charging at up to 2A. A full charge takes approximately four hours with the lamp switched off and a suitable 5V/2A power source. The indicator displays the remaining battery level before use, and the low-voltage warning alerts the user when the battery needs charging or replacing.
A Fenix ARB-L18 series 18650 rechargeable battery can also be used with the separately available Fenix ALF-18 battery holder. Other 18650 batteries are not recommended because an unsuitable cell may be unable to provide the current required for the higher outputs.
Battery compatibility: The Fenix ARB-L21-6000 and ARB-L21-6000B are not compatible with the HM70R.
