The Fenix HM71R is a high-output rechargeable head torch built for demanding professional work, inspection and outdoor use. Its 2700-lumen spotlight reaches up to 230 metres when a clear view into the distance is needed, while the separate high-CRI neutral-white floodlight gives a broad, natural-looking view of wiring, machinery, surfaces and other close-range detail. The light can also be released from the headband and used as a right-angle handheld or magnetic work light, making it considerably more versatile than a conventional head torch.

Distance And Close-Range Lighting
The focused spotlight is suited to checking routes, structures, roof spaces and larger work areas where identifying detail at distance matters. Four output levels allow its range and battery consumption to be matched to the task, with turbo available when the maximum 2700-lumen output is required.
For work directly in front of the user, the separate floodlight creates a wider and more even spread with less concentrated glare. Its neutral-white Luminus SST20 LED has a CRI of 90, helping colours and fine detail appear more natural when inspecting cables, components, finishes or equipment. The 5-lumen Reading setting provides discreet illumination for paperwork and close tasks while offering up to 400 hours of run time.
Head Torch, Handheld Light And Magnetic Work Light
The HM71R’s light unit releases from its headband holder when a head-mounted beam is not the best option. Its right-angle form makes it comfortable to hold and direct by hand, while the magnetic tail allows it to be secured to a suitable steel surface. This can free both hands when working inside a cabinet, beneath a vehicle or around fixed machinery.
When worn as a head torch, the over-head strap helps distribute its weight and improves stability during active work. The lamp angle can be adjusted in its holder, allowing the beam to be directed towards the immediate work area or further ahead.
Simple Control With Two Beam Groups
A large, glove-friendly switch controls the light. The spotlight and floodlight are selected as separate groups, so the user can choose concentrated distance lighting or broad task lighting without powering an unnecessary beam. A lockout function helps prevent accidental activation when the HM71R is carried in a bag or toolbox.
The spotlight remembers its previously selected level, although turbo restarts on high to control heat and power use. The floodlight begins on its lowest Reading level whenever that beam group is selected, reducing the chance of unexpectedly bright reflected light during close work.
Replaceable Battery And USB-C Charging
The supplied Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 is a removable 5000mAh 21700 rechargeable battery. It charges inside the lamp through the protected USB-C port in approximately four hours when used with a suitable 5V/2A power source. A battery-level indicator shows the remaining charge before use, while the low-voltage warning gives advance notice when the battery needs recharging or replacing.
Because the battery is replaceable, a compatible charged spare can be carried for extended shifts or trips. Low spotlight output can also be used while the HM71R is connected to a charger.
Battery compatibility: Fenix ARB-L21 series protected rechargeable batteries are recommended. The ARB-L21-6000 and ARB-L21-6000B are not compatible with the HM71R.
