The Fenix HM75R is a high-performance rechargeable head torch for industrial work, caving, maintenance and prolonged outdoor use. It combines a 1600-lumen spotlight, a wide neutral-white floodlight and a powerful red beam with two replaceable batteries. The headlamp contains an ARB-L18-3400 battery, while the included rear power extender holds an ARB-L21-5000 V2 battery for considerably longer operation, better weight distribution and power-bank functionality.

Three Beams For Different Tasks
The focused 6500K spotlight reaches up to 223 metres, making it well suited to inspecting distant areas, navigating large sites and seeing further ahead underground or outdoors. When powered by the headlamp’s own battery, turbo produces the maximum 1600-lumen output. Lower settings provide more practical continuous lighting when maximum reach is unnecessary.
The two 4000K neutral-white floodlight LEDs spread light across a much wider area. This creates a more useful view for close work, equipment checks and moving through confined or uneven spaces, while the warmer colour temperature presents surfaces with a more natural appearance and feels less harsh at short range.
The red beam provides more versatility than a basic marker light. Its 120-lumen high setting can illuminate a useful working area while producing less glare than the white beams, and the lower levels help preserve dark-adapted vision. Flash provides a long-running signal when attracting attention is more important than illuminating the surrounding area.
Dual-Battery System For Extended Use
The front and rear batteries operate as two individual power sources rather than discharging at the same time. When the power extender is active, its rear-mounted ARB-L21-5000 V2 battery powers the head torch first. Once the extender can no longer maintain the selected output, the HM75R automatically transfers operation to the ARB-L18-3400 battery inside the lamp.
This arrangement provides far longer run times than the front battery alone. For example, spotlight high increases from 3 hours 30 minutes to 10 hours 30 minutes, while floodlight high increases from 4 hours to 14 hours. The extender limits spotlight turbo to 1200 lumens and floodlight turbo to 700 lumens while it is supplying power, prioritising sustained operation. The full 1600-lumen spotlight and 1000-lumen floodlight settings become available again when the headlamp returns to its own battery.
Rear Power Extender And Power Bank
The battery extender can remain on the rear headband to balance the weight between the front and back of the head. The supplied 1-metre locking USB-C cable also allows it to be carried on a belt or in a pocket, reducing the weight worn on the head and making it easier to protect the battery in particularly cold or confined environments.
With the headlamp switched off, the extender can top up the front battery between sessions. Its second operating mode adds automatic charging cut-off and allows the 5000mAh extender to charge a compatible phone or other USB device, giving the HM75R useful emergency power-bank capability away from mains electricity.
Power-extender operation: When the extender is being used in its normal headlamp-power mode, it should also be switched off after the headlamp is turned off. Otherwise, it will continue topping up the front battery and may waste stored energy after that battery is full.
Direct Rotary Mode Selection
A metal rotary switch selects spotlight, floodlight or Red Light without requiring the wearer to cycle through unrelated modes. The central electronic button then changes the brightness within the selected group. This arrangement is quick to understand and practical when changing between distance, task and low-glare lighting during the same job.
Automatic Proximity Protection
The switchable intelligent brightness-downshifting function detects when the lamp is approximately 60mm from an illuminated object. If it remains close for more than 1.5 seconds, the HM75R reduces the output to low to help prevent heat damage to the light or nearby material. Moving the lamp away allows it to return to the previously selected level, which is particularly useful if it is accidentally activated against clothing, equipment or the inside of a bag.
Separate USB-C Charging
Both rechargeable batteries can be charged without specialist equipment. The protected USB-C port in the headlamp charges the ARB-L18-3400 battery in approximately four hours, while the rear extender charges the ARB-L21-5000 V2 battery in approximately 2.5 hours. Charging indicators provide a clear view of progress and remaining battery level.
Two CR123A non-rechargeable batteries can be used in the headlamp as an emergency alternative to the 18650 battery. CR123A batteries must not be charged inside the HM75R and cannot be used in the rear extender.
Memory And Safer Restart
The intelligent memory circuit recalls the previously selected output within each lighting mode, reducing the need to reset the lamp whenever it is switched on. If the spotlight or floodlight was switched off in turbo, it restarts in high rather than immediately returning to maximum output.
Lightweight Magnesium Lamp Body
The high-strength magnesium-alloy lamp body combines durability with effective heat dissipation. The adjustable head allows the beam to be directed towards the route ahead or down onto a close task without repositioning the headband. Intelligent overheat protection reduces output if the lamp reaches approximately 60°C and restores it as the temperature falls.
Comfortable Headband And Helmet Compatibility
The breathable headband is detachable for cleaning and includes reflective detailing to make the wearer easier to notice when illuminated by another light source. The HM75R is compatible with the optional Fenix ALG-03 V2 and ALG-04 helmet mounts for suitable hard hats and caving helmets. Two compatible mounts are required when attaching both the lamp and rear battery pack to a helmet.
Protection For Demanding Environments
IP68 protection makes the HM75R dustproof and allows it to withstand submersion to 2 metres for up to four hours. It is also impact resistant to 2 metres, providing additional reassurance during industrial work, caving and use around rough ground.
