The Fenix HL16 is a lightweight AAA-powered head torch for running, walking, camping and everyday outdoor use. Its white beam reaches up to 104m with a maximum output of 450 lumens, while separate red-light modes provide gentler illumination for close-range tasks. Three widely available AAA batteries make it easy to restore full power immediately, without waiting for the light to recharge.

Replaceable AAA Power
The HL16 uses three AAA alkaline batteries, which are supplied with the head torch. Fresh batteries can be fitted in moments, making it practical for travel, emergency kits and longer trips where access to a charger may be limited. Compatible AAA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries can also be used for lower-cost routine operation, but they must be charged separately.
The HL16 does not have a charging port. Do not use 10440 Li-ion batteries, as their higher voltage can damage the head torch.
White And Red Lighting
Four white-light settings cover everything from close-range jobs to faster movement on an unlit route. The constant red light is useful for reading, organising equipment or moving around without the glare of the main beam, while the red SOS mode provides a long-running emergency signal.
Comfortable For Movement
The wide perforated headband spreads the load and allows heat and moisture to escape during active use. Reflective detailing improves side visibility, and the lamp tilts through 60 degrees so the beam can be aimed at the ground or further ahead without changing the fit of the headband.
Ready For Outdoor Use
The high-strength polycarbonate body keeps the weight to 97.2g including the batteries and headband. An internal aluminium heat sink helps control temperature at higher outputs, while IP66 protection resists rain and dust. Electronic lockout prevents accidental activation inside a bag, and the memory function recalls the last white-light setting used.
