Useful Light Without Unnecessary Weight
The white beam offers four brightness levels for matching the light to the activity. Turbo provides the reach needed for faster movement and identifying obstacles further along an unlit route, while high and medium balance useful visibility with longer battery life. The 5-lumen low setting is suited to close work, reading and moving around a campsite without wasting power.
Red Light For Night Vision And Signalling
Constant red light provides discreet illumination for reading maps, organising equipment or moving around other people without the glare of the main white beam. It also affects night-adjusted vision less strongly than white light. The red SOS mode provides a highly economical emergency signal with a quoted run time of up to 200 hours.
Replaceable AAA Power
The HL16 uses three AAA alkaline batteries, which are included with the head torch. Fresh batteries can be fitted in moments, making it a practical choice for travel, emergency kits and longer trips where access to mains charging may be limited. Compatible AAA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries can also be used for lower-cost routine operation, although they must be charged separately.
The HL16 does not contain a charging port. Do not use 10440 Li-ion batteries, as their higher voltage can damage the head torch.

The widened perforated headband spreads the load across a larger area while allowing heat and moisture to escape. Reflective detailing improves side visibility in low light, and the 60-degree tilt mechanism allows the beam to be aimed at the ground or further ahead without changing the fit of the headband.
