Long-Range Spotlight
The Luminus SST40 Gen2 spotlight produces a balanced combination of central reach and surrounding spill, with a maximum distance of 170 metres. Turbo is useful for checking open ground, structures and route changes further ahead, while High and Medium provide more sustainable illumination for regular movement and extended work.
The four spotlight levels allow the output to be reduced for closer tasks without losing the more defined beam pattern. This makes the HM60R V2.0 adaptable to changing conditions without continually relying on its highest setting.
Smooth High-CRI Floodlight
The separate Luminus SST20 Gen2 floodlight produces an even 5000K beam without a distracting central hotspot. It spreads light across the immediate working area, improving peripheral visibility and making it more comfortable for maintenance, inspection, reading, camping and other close-range tasks.
Its high colour-rendering performance helps wiring, labels, equipment and surface details appear more natural. This is particularly useful when accurate colour distinction matters more than maximum beam distance.
Direct-Access Red Light
The red-light group can be opened directly from off without first activating either white beam. This helps protect night vision and avoids flooding nearby people with bright white light when reading a map, checking equipment or moving around a shared space after dark.
Red High provides a stronger close-range beam, while Red Low offers a more discreet output with extended runtime. The 370-hour flashing mode can be used as a long-lasting visibility or emergency signal.
The spotlight, floodlight and red-light sources are selected separately and cannot be operated together.
Glove-Friendly Physical Controls
A top-mounted sliding selector moves directly between Lock, Spotlight and Floodlight. The positive positions make it easier to choose the required white-light source by touch, even when wearing gloves, while the large side button cycles through the available brightness levels.
The physical Lock position helps prevent accidental activation in a bag or vehicle. Brightness memory recalls the previously used output for each white-light mode, although Spotlight restarts on High if it was switched off in Turbo.
Rechargeable And Replaceable Battery
The HM60R V2.0 is supplied with a removable Fenix ARB-L18-4000 18650 rechargeable battery. Its 4000mAh capacity provides long operating times, while the replaceable design allows a compatible charged spare to be carried for extended shifts and trips.
The USB-C charging port is concealed beneath a threaded aluminium cover and has an internally waterproof design. A full charge takes approximately 2.5 hours with a suitable 5V/2A power supply, and selected outputs can be used while the head torch remains connected to a charging source.
A four-stage battery indicator shows the remaining charge when a compatible Fenix ARB-L18 series battery is installed. Low-voltage protection gradually reduces the output as the battery becomes depleted and provides a visible warning when it reaches the lowest setting.
Two CR123A lithium batteries can be used as an emergency alternative. CR123A batteries are not rechargeable and must never be charged inside the head torch.

The lamp tilts through approximately 170 degrees, allowing the beam to be directed towards the ground for close work or raised further ahead for route finding. The perforated headband improves airflow, while reflective detailing makes the wearer easier to identify from the side.
The HM60R V2.0 can also be fitted to suitable Fenix ALG-03 and ALG-04 helmet mounts. Fenix UK does not recommend this model for serious caving because its exposed top sliding selector may be moved unintentionally in demanding underground environments.

The A6061-T6 aluminium body provides strength, effective heat dissipation and a more substantial construction than a typical plastic head torch. Intelligent overheat protection automatically reduces output if the lamp becomes too hot during prolonged high-power use.
The HM60R V2.0 is impact resistant to two metres. Its IP68 rating provides complete protection against dust and allows submersion in water to a depth of two metres when the charging cover and battery compartment are correctly secured.
