Long-Range Spotlight
The focused spotlight is intended for seeing further ahead on open ground, trails and large work sites. Turbo delivers the full 1250-lumen output when maximum reach is needed, while the lower levels provide more practical run times for continuous use. The beam can be tilted through 60 degrees, allowing it to be directed towards the route ahead or down towards a close task without repeatedly adjusting the headband.
Smooth Neutral-White Floodlight
The 4500K neutral-white floodlight produces a wide, even beam for reading maps, preparing equipment, working at arm’s length or moving over uneven ground. Its more natural colour rendering makes surface detail easier to distinguish than under a harsh cool-white beam, while the low 5-lumen setting provides gentle illumination for close work and exceptionally long run time.
Independent Or Combined Lighting
Separate switches operate the spotlight and floodlight, so each beam can be used on its own or both can be switched on together. This makes the HP16R easy to adapt: use the spotlight for distance, the floodlight for peripheral and close-range visibility, or combine them when a broad field of view and a strong central beam are both useful.
Red Light And SOS Mode
The constant red light is useful for reading, checking equipment and working around other people without the glare of the main white beams. It also helps preserve dark-adapted vision. The red SOS setting provides a long-running emergency signal when attracting attention is more important than illuminating the surrounding area.
Two Power Sources For Greater Flexibility
The HP16R is supplied with a removable Fenix ARB-LP3000 3000mAh lithium-polymer battery. For longer trips or situations where recharging is unavailable, the battery case can also run on four AA alkaline or NiMH batteries. This dual-power design makes replacement batteries much easier to source when working or travelling away from mains power.
Battery compatibility: Do not use 3.7V 14500 rechargeable batteries or primary lithium AA batteries. Only the supplied ARB-LP3000 battery should be charged inside the headlamp.
Balanced Rear Battery Pack
Positioning the battery case at the rear distributes the weight more evenly instead of placing the complete power system on the forehead. This improves stability and comfort during longer periods of wear. Reflective strips on the battery case also help make the wearer more visible from behind when light reaches them.
USB-C Charging And Battery Monitoring
The supplied ARB-LP3000 battery charges inside the headlamp through its USB-C port in approximately three hours when used with a suitable 2A power source. A battery-level indicator provides a quick check of the remaining charge, while the low-voltage warning gives advance notice when the rechargeable battery is approaching depletion.
Memory, Lockout And Adjustable Beam
The intelligent memory function returns to the previously used spotlight or floodlight output, reducing the need to cycle through settings each time the light is switched on. If the spotlight is switched off in Turbo, it restarts in High to avoid unexpected maximum output. Electronic lockout helps prevent accidental activation during transport, while the protective design also reduces the chance of the lamp being switched on when folded into its covered position.
