Long-Range Spotlight
The 5700K spotlight produces a focused beam reaching up to 290 metres, making it suitable for route finding, searching open ground and identifying hazards or landmarks before reaching them. Five brightness levels allow the beam to be adapted from powerful long-distance illumination to economical general lighting.
Turbo initially provides the maximum 1600-lumen output, while High offers 1000 lumens for situations that still require substantial reach. To control temperature during prolonged use, these settings reduce their output after approximately ten minutes. Medium, Low and Eco provide steadier illumination when maximum brightness is unnecessary, with Eco delivering the longest spotlight runtime.
Smooth Neutral-White Floodlight
The independently controlled 4500K floodlight produces an even, wide beam without a concentrated central hotspot. This makes it more comfortable for close-range work, reading equipment, preparing a campsite or illuminating the ground immediately ahead.
Its neutral-white light provides natural-looking detail and is less harsh at close range than the spotlight. High offers a useful 400-lumen working beam, while the 5-lumen Low setting can provide discreet illumination for up to 400 hours.
Independent Or Combined Lighting
Separate switches operate the spotlight and the functional lighting channel, allowing the most appropriate beam to be selected quickly. The spotlight and floodlight can also be used together, combining distance illumination with a wider view of the surrounding area.
This flexibility is particularly useful when moving across uneven ground, carrying out inspections or working in large dark spaces. The spotlight can reveal what lies further ahead while the floodlight keeps nearby obstacles, tools and surroundings visible.
Red Light And SOS Mode
The 5-lumen red light provides low-level illumination while helping the user retain more of their natural night vision. It is useful for reading maps, checking equipment, moving around a shared campsite or working near other people without exposing them to a bright white beam.
A red SOS mode provides an emergency signalling option with a quoted runtime of up to 800 hours. Both red-light settings are accessed through the functional switch without needing to cycle through the spotlight outputs.
Balanced Rear Battery Pack
Positioning the battery at the rear of the headband distributes the weight between the front and back of the head. This creates a more balanced fit than placing the lamp and its power source together at the forehead, improving comfort and stability during extended use.
The supplied Fenix ARB-L21-5000 is a removable 5000mAh 21700 rechargeable battery. It can be replaced when its service life eventually ends or exchanged for a charged compatible battery when prolonged operation is required. A compatible protected 18650 battery can also be used with the separately available Fenix ALF-18 battery adaptor.
USB-C Charging And Battery Monitoring
The battery can be charged inside the rear battery case through its protected USB-C port. A full charge takes approximately four hours when using a suitable 5V/2A power source, and the head torch can continue operating while connected to power, although charging will take longer.
A built-in indicator displays the approximate remaining charge before use. The low-voltage warning progressively reduces the brightness as the battery becomes depleted and flashes the light periodically once the lowest spotlight output is reached, helping prevent an unexpected loss of illumination.
Memory, Lockout And Adjustable Beam
The intelligent memory circuit recalls the previously used output when the head torch is switched on again. If the spotlight was switched off in Turbo or High, it restarts at Medium to avoid unexpectedly activating at an extremely bright level.
An electronic lockout prevents accidental operation inside a bag, toolbox or vehicle. The lamp can also be physically protected by tilting it fully into its holder. A 60-degree adjustment range allows the beam to be directed towards the ground, a work area or further ahead without requiring the wearer to hold their head at an uncomfortable angle.
